Celebrate Small Steps to Big Goals!
Ingrain Social Media Tip of the Day #12
Set long-term goals and celebrate the smaller achievements along the way
When you set long-term goals, it can feel like you’re lost in the overwhelming magnitude of checking that goal off your list. A great thing about having long-term goals is the ability to keep us focused and moving towards something bigger than we’re currently focused on. Something that will grow ourselves, our business, or our families.
What we don’t often anticipate are all of the obstacles that we overcome on the path to fulfilling our goals. That’s why it’s so important to stay focused and celebrate the small wins along the way.
As Dori says (In the Movie Finding Nemo), “Just keep swimming…..”
One way to stay focused on long-term goals is to celebrate your small achievements along the way. This will help you to re-focus, and break a large ambition down to pieces you can easily chip away at until you reach the place you set out to, then hopefully you’ll move the bar even further!
Social media goals can be especially daunting to achieve, as they often require a splash of persistence and a great deal of consistency. To stay on track, make sure you take a few moments to congratulate yourself when you make even a little bit of progress along your journey.
- Have a goal to gain 500 followers? Celebrate every time you gain 50
- Want to blog daily for a year? Celebrate when you’ve done 30 days straight
However BIG your goals are, you can always find a way to celebrate the small victories along the way!
Pro Tip: Taking the time to relish in your victories will keep you motivated and focused!
