What’s New In Social Media This Week?
This week, LinkedIn launched LinkedIn Salary, a resource which can guide you in determining the correct salary, bonus and equity data for specific job titles. LinkedIn says they take into account the different factors that effect pay such as; years of experience, industry, company size, location and education level.
Top 5 Pro Tips for Social Media Marketing-
1. Regularly audit past content to improve posts-
This will give you a birds-eye view of what is happening with your social media content and how your fans/followers are reacting to it. It will also help you to determine if you should post more of certain type(s) of content, post at different times, or switch platforms all together.
2. Create posts that educate, entertain and inspire-
In order to add the maximum amount of value to your followers, you need to do something that they look forward to, learn from or get some feel goods out of. Offering information, humor or inspiration is a great way to do this! You don’t have to do all of them, choose which one(s) work best for you. Also, when you employ these methods, the content doesn’t always have to be over-the-top, a simple inspirational quote is great for most platforms, add a photo and a text overlay and you’ve got a great post.
3. Don’t Try to Be Everywhere, Focus on 1-2 Platforms-
Trying to be on every platform all the time will lead to burn-out syndrome. Stick with 1-2 platforms until you get really good at them and you have a solid base of fans.
4. Deliver Content Consistently, Don’t Give Up (even when it feels like you’re talking to yourself)-
Keep posting consistently even if you don’t feel like you’re getting interaction or growing your following. Everything takes lots of practice and social media is not different. Stick with it and continue to refine your approach, and you’ll do great!
5. Always Put a Positive Spin on Things-
Social media can be a negative space sometimes, add to that the lack of context, and you can have a pretty bleak outlook on things. Keeping a positive tone can often turn a negative review or comment around. If nothing else, it keeps your brand image looking positive and other customers WILL see that.
