Running a contest on Facebook carries more responsibility than most folks realize. Not only does Facebook have clear and specific rules regarding what is and isn’t allowed, the FTC has guidelines and regulations that must be adhered to.
Common mistakes marketers are making with Facebook contests:
1. Requiring people to “Like” the page
2. Requiring people Share a status to enter
3. Requiring a purchase or making it difficult to enter without a purchase
